The Emerge! Student Shorts Gala showcases the best short films from graduating film students from South East Queensland tertiary schools. Awards are presented on the night thanks to our Prize Sponsor and Festival Partner FOTA, Friends of the Arts and Blackmagic Design.

Emerge! is produced in partnerships wit our Prize Sponsor and Festival Partner FOTA, Friends of the Arts and Blackmagic Design, who has kindly donated a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K for the winners of both the Best Student Short Film and Best Cinematography, and a $250 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of Best Screenplay, thanks to FOTA Foundation.
